Loft is a self-initiated stereo speaker project exploring how high-quality audio can become a considered part of the interior. Rooted in a lifelong interest in playing and listening to music, the design combines a minimal curved form with carefully selected materials and integrated audio technology. Its layered bamboo enclosure and refined proportions balance acoustic performance with a warm, furniture-like presence.

Minimal Form, Distinctive Presence

Visualizing Pain Thresholds

The curved shape of Loft is derived from combining multiple geometric primitives and lofting the space between them. This creates a form that moves beyond flat surfaces while remaining controlled and visually aligned. The result is a soft but structured silhouette with a clear visual identity.

Multilayer Enclosure

Multilayer Enclosure

Visualizing Pain Thresholds

The curved enclosure was created by layering custom machined bamboo pieces and bonding them together. Each layer interlocks using alignment pins for precise assembly. The result is a strong yet lightweight acoustic enclosure whose curved internal geometry helps diffuse sound waves and reduce internal reflections.

Inputs & Controls

Inputs & Controls

Visualizing Pain Thresholds

Loft features Bluetooth connectivity as well as a 3.5 mm input jack for connecting to external audio sources. The control buttons are easy to reach and air-sealed to maintain the integrity of the enclosure. The rear panel also features a passive radiator, which extends the low-frequency response and contributes to a balanced sound.

Visualizing Pain Thresholds

The parts of Loft are carefully designed to be easy to replace while remaining securely in place during use. Each component is fitted to minimize movement and prevent acoustic vibrations from affecting the assembly, helping maintain both durability and sound performance over time.
