Luna is a multifunctional task light designed to adapt to changing privacy needs in homes and offices. It can transform from a traditional task light into a partial privacy shield, giving the user a greater sense of privacy while also signaling a need for concentration.

Luna can be opened easily with one hand, transforming it into a partial privacy bubble. Opening the lamp reveals a lightweight, semi-rigid TPU surface available in a range of colors. Its folded form draws inspiration from the principles of origami and traditional lanterns.

An integrated circular LED provides a warm light and evenly illuminates a broad area when Luna is both open and closed. The light source is positioned to minimize harsh shadows and create a comfortable working atmosphere. Its placement also allows the lighting function to remain consistent as the form transitions between its different configurations.

To allow Luna to be opened easily with one hand, a custom planetary gear system is integrated into its weighted base, providing controlled movement while maintaining stability. The mechanism keeps the motion smooth and balanced throughout the opening and closing process.

Luna’s packaging follows the same restrained design language as the lamp itself. A protective foam insert keeps the product secure during transport, while minimal graphics and branding on the exterior create a simple and cohesive presentation that reflects the overall character of the design.
